A little while back—8+ months!—I told you about a [share button](https://ryanfeigenbaum.com/share/) I created. It's a custom web component that can be dropped onto any site to enable sharing content to social media networks. At its core, it's a way for authors to easily add sharing capabilities to their sites, so readers can effortlessly share content across various social media platforms.

Here's what it looks like:

A live version of it lives in the header of this page. And, right here, too. Give it a click.

This update brings a whole suite of improvements, but here are the 3 top ones:

1. [Comprehensive docs](https://royalfig.github.io/share-button/?ref=ryanfeigenbaum.com) with step-by-step instructions for installation and customization.
2. More options to make the share button blend in seamlessly with your site.
3. Still built on web standards, so it likely works everywhere.

The [code](https://github.com/royalfig/share-button?ref=ryanfeigenbaum.com) for the docs (built on [VitePress](https://vitepress.dev/?ref=ryanfeigenbaum.com)) and the button are open source. Let me know if you're going to add the component to your site!
